CRX Engine Swap ????
I bought an 88 Rex last year to make an all-show-no-go car. Exterior and interior are almost finished and the car looks great, but the car has 189000 miles and I have no history on the car cause I bought it as salvage for $110.00. I'm an auto body man and I am
when it comes to engines. I have a lot to learn. So what is the easiest, least expensive swap to do in a CRX that makes it worth doing the swap? Welcome back to swaps 101!

Easiest? ZC is usually the cheapest and easiest to swap in. There was a post on the board with a ton of ZC links on how to swap them, etc. Next step up I'd have to say the b16a. Do a search on 'engine swap' and you'll find a ton of stuff, also try 'zc resources' etc.

yea i would have to say a ZC would be the cheapest and easiest swap available. with a ZC you are gettin a good 30-40 hp gain. and you can use all your stock mounts. with a b16 you need different motor mounts and lots of other ****. plus if i remember correctly i think that ZC's r either good for supercharging or turbo but dont quote me on that.
yah the ZC is a ez swap and cheap...but can be hard to smog, if you want to keep your car streetable, i had a ZC i loved it, ran like a champ, it smogged fine burned a little oil but never gave me problems! i wish i turbo'd it instead of going b16...well anyways the zc is great!
Looks like I'm gonna go with a ZC. They are pretty cheap from what I found and after doing some research all day yesterday, pretty easy to swap as well. Thanks for your input! Much appreciated!
