Default anyone taken out their passenger front seat?? if so what happened.

well i called my buddy yesterday cause he went to seattle to run his RSX at the track. eventually he called back and said that his car only ran a 14.8. anyways, we were BSing and he told me that he temporarily fucked up his car. of course i asked why and he said he took out his passenger seat. well to make a long story short, he said it idled a little rougher, VTEC worked but didnt pull like it used to and the SRS light came on. so to anyone that has done this, what was ur experience and did this happen to u also?

i havent taken the seat out.. i know that the seat has a sensor for the SRS, as far as the VTEC.. i dont see how the seat has anything to do with the VTEC

I'm the friend in question. I took the seat out, it tripped the SRS light, owners manual said to take the car in immediately if this happens. It's the weirdest thing. I ran my car on a warmer day last weekend with full interior 1/4 tank of gas same tires and same mods exactly and pulled a 14.8 @ 94.5 mph w/ a 2.31 60 ft. I was only able to make 1 pass because the track is horribly managed. Fast forward to Friday. I drive to SIR which is almost at sea level, perfect temps at 60 degrees, and I had unclipped the SRS plug for the passenger air bag the day before. The best time I pulled was a 14.8 but my mph was all fucked up. I had to abuse the car to get a 93.5 mph trap and most of them were in the 91.5-92.5 range. Never in my life racing cars in either my Lude or hybrid Accord have I actually not run at least 3 tenths and 2-3 mph faster at SIR compared to SRP due to both elevation and temp. The car just felt weak after I had pulled the plug and my suspicions were verified I believe this last Friday w/ how the car did not pull in the top end. The car is burning no oil and I was unable to clear the light by resetting the ecu by either pulling the terminals or the fuse. I took the car into a Honda Dealership that my friend works at on Sat. and he hooked up the PGM tester and it read that the passenger side air bag had deployed. He flipped through a few screens on the tester and cleared the light like it was nothing. I need to get me one of those. Anyways. Warmed the car up, took it for a drive and call me full of **** but the car was running strong again. I used to run 14.6-14.7 in my hybrid accord so I know what a mid 14 feels like. My RSX-S felt like it could walk a 14.4-14.5 on my hybrid accord before I pulled the seat and afterwards I knew it felt slower than my accord when punched it. Now, with the light off, it feels faster again. I can't explain it and I don't care. I'm just happy the car runs like it's supposed to again.
