Default Basemap for GSR w/ITR cams/header...

If those are my only mods, save for exhaust, should'nt I be able to get a basemap for my ECU that's close enough w/out having to get Hondata or Chrome or something like that?

I know tuning to my engine is the best way, but it's a healthy GSR and those are very common mods..Surely a basemap exist and would do me just fine.. right?

Yes, no?

Just run a basemap off crome. You don't actually have to get it tuned until you do some more work.

the only way you are going to be able to run a basemap is to have a original GSR ecu, you can't put a basemap to a ecu unless its chipped

exactly

Your either going to have to buy an ITR ECU or chip an OBDI ECU and your good to go. That way if you do more later on your already one step closer to being able to tune your car

Why spend money on the ITR ECU? Then you'll just be limited to that, and will have to sell it and get a different ECU anyway when you do any more work that'll require tuning, plus then you wouldn't have to spend even more money on an aftermarket non-dual-butterfly intake mani. Just get an OBD1 P72 ECU, or any OBD1 ECU if you want to mod it for vtec and dual butterflies (although there is not much info/proof on if the dual-butterfly mod works).

It's lookin like I'll chip my ECU..I was directed to a local guy who does it. Waiting to hear back from him.

Any suggested places to get a good basemap?

Or there are 'tutorials' or whatever you want to call them that tell you how to make a basemap based on different parameters that you've changed on your engine. Also you could send an OBD1 P72 ECU to phearables and they'll chip and basemap it for you, you just tell them your setup. I think it cost my brother $75 plus the price of shipping the ECU, and it includes the price of all the materials needed to chip plus the actual chip and everything.

yep. Good ole hole-in-the-wall Perry

Are there anymore sites that have basemaps like the one listed? Thats pretty cool.. Though I didn't see one that fit my lil build. The first one in Chrome was the closest.. but thats it.
