dashboard rattle/creaking...?
anyone else suffering from this ...just started a few days ago and its driving me nuts....its coming from the driver side corner of the dash...and its freakin annoying...Im hoping its from the extra cold temps we just started having...but lemme know if any one else has this problem...oh and it compliments my rear right side rattle arm rest squeak and driver seat creakage quite well....
oh yeah and I know its just a civic econo box blah blah blah...but this is my first new honda....it makes more interior noises then any of the old ones i had ranging from 1990-1995
My civics both have that dashboard rattle. My ex had the driver's side by the tweater rattle, the si has both sides by the tweater. I also have the subwoofer rattle, and the driver's side door handle rattle. Ugh!
I hope you figure out how to fix this cause it drives me crazy.

Yep, same thing here...I call it a metallic plastic sound. Can't seem to find any good way to get rid of it either. I dinged Honda bad on it during my new Honda survey. Also did the same with the easy-to-scuff lower door panels...if you look at it wrong it's scuffed for good.

I have the EXACT same rattle. I'm hoping it goes away when the cold temps go away. I dont even want the stealership techs all up in my car, they will probably just scuff up my plastic.

Thats how I feel about taking care to the dealership. Those techs could care less if there flat head slips and puts a huge gash in the plastic. etccc....

seems common ....idk what the dealer would even do rip it apart and say we dont see anything and that'd be it sooo i'll just wait to the warm weather and "hopefully" they will all go away.....or else Im gonna have to cop the apexi n1

bahh i have the same noise too thats why i actually logged on today..to see if anyone was having that issue also, i was like feeling around while driving to see if i held something down it would stop but i couldnt find it
When im trying to start going and apply very VERY little throttle...the engine seems to RAttLe only in first gear at REALLY low RPM's as well. I do have the Injen CAI so i figured that may be what it is. but after reading all these posts and that service announcement i think mine is something wrong with the belts.
Also, when i am going all out and need to shift really fast, i do, and then i hear a 'chirp' from the 'belt'?? or so i think. its just like a quick CHiRP!...its been buggin me for some time now and dont know what it is. anyone else have this problem too??
The rattle happens really low in 1st
and
The chirping gears happens in most gears..like 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.
And i do boost shift certain times, but its not an issue then.
any other input??

i had a rattle coming from the pass. side of the dash near the tweater... a tech and i ended up padding it with some wool felt and EPT sealer which has fixed the problem thus far.
