Poor mans type R build how deep would u go??
Okay i realize this is probably a pretty general question to most, but some input would be appreciated. I currently am build a poor mans type R setup listed as follows:
B18C1 block
B18C5 internals
Blocks been bored, honed, decked and hottanked, blueprinted, balanced, micropolished
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Head Studs
B18C1 headgasket, timing belt, water pump, and oil pump
B16A1 complete head
B18C5 intake manifold and exhaust manifold
B16 LSD tranny with ITR 4.7 final drive
Hasport Mounts
Hasport Shift Linkage
Hondata S300
Now my question is to you guys is this build suffecient enough for you or should I continue building while its out but will take a longer time which would constitute.
Portflow complete headjob
Valves, Springs, Retainers
Type R camshafts
Block Sleeve
RMF header
ITBs
theres more i would do but im having a brainfart due to lack of sleep but in the end would cost another 4000 give or take and about another 6-7 months to complete build fully. Im not looking for some extremely fast motor or anything but it would be nice at the same time.

you prob should ov just picked up a ITR motor to begin with...prob would ov spent less $$$ instead of piecing together a motor and trying to get it to be like an ITR...well, since the motor is out....i would get it port & polish and a valve job...but c'mon...its your motor, stop asking Honda-Tech if your motor is to their likes and just build it how you want it...
I wouldnt run S300 on a build like that. Actually this isnt even a build, its a rebuild and your making it a type R. Just run a Type R ecu.
What are your goals for the car/motor?

I say use some other pistons if you're staying all motor like PR3s, P30s or JDM ITRs
And are you saying you're gonna do a ITR IM or ITBs?

Okay my bad i apparently didnt make myself clear enough about the build. I would like to do ITBs but i currently am running a ITR IM. Why wouldn't you run Hondata on this build?? Too extreme better to just stick with type R ecu??? Im not asking Honda-Tech to tell me what to do im just getting your opinions thats all and i appreciate them. Honestly my goals are to hit 13's NA and or possibly 12's on radials in Pomona and thats it to be honest i just want to build the car just to build it.
I'd personally would still use Hondata just to get as much power as I can. But like Luserkid said, your setup is basically a stock ITR. Besides the RMF.
I'd use PR3 pistons to get a little more compression and go with some slightly bigger cams (skunk2 regular stage2) will also need some better valvetrain and tune on Hondata. Should be good for 200whp on a dynojet

very funny well i already got all that stuff on the list and no it wasnt cheap can anybody say income tax refund???
I think what im gonna do is run the CTR valvetrain with a port/polish and run hondata.
