Default power without giving it more gas?

While in 5th going 50mph with the foot on the gas (i think), the car has momentarily surged, and hesitated at different times.

never had the problem b4 today

can this be a result of what i did yesterday? >

1.) I was banging on the top of the dizzy to get off a stuck bolt, could I have damaged the ignition coil?

2.) i had installed a fuel cut off 25A rocker switch, and spliced the power to the fuel pump a couple of times. There are three cuts in the line, so it has a few higher gauge speaker wire connections that patch up my previous splices.

tHANKS in Advance!

It does sound like ignition breaking up. Look at your splices. You're going to get flamed for using speakerwire, haha.

fixed it!

the part of the spark plug that screws on, and connects to the plug wire had come undone.
