How do you remove chrome/nickle paint off your wheels?

well, i just recently bought some MUGEN MR5 and sum1 had the wheels chromed out. it looks nice n all but the wheels start to look like it coroded inside the chrome or sumsort. is there sumway i can remove the chrome plating myself without hurting the wheels?or would i have to send it to a shop/if so, how much do u think it supposely cost(dont wanna get ripp off). thanks . let me kno you guys.

From what I understand, you'll have to have the wheels chemically stripped. I am looking at doing the same thing with a set of wheels I have. I do not believe you can do that yourself -- not even with aircraft stripper.
