alright so i'm driving normally doing bout 30mph then my car starts going popopopo like backfiring n jus shuts off. The car is a dx with mpfi using an ls distributor i picked up from the junkyard. its been mpfi for 2 months with not problem though so i dont think thats the problem. I try to start the car n it makes da little popopo back fire noise n doesnt start. i checked the plugs n theres no spark at all. then i looked at the internal coil in the dizzy n it looks old n rusty so my friend told me that was it. so i bought a new one n a new rotor too but the whole on the little pin to put the rotor screw in is like too small n shallow. n the old rusty rotor didnt have a screw holding it. what should i do? if i jus put in the new rotor without the screw it'll be too loose. i'm stuck guys any help would be great.

 

sounds like the screw fell out and when you pulled off the cap it fell out of the car then.

 

If there was no screw then that could be it, but a bad igniter will make it backfire also.

 

wat should i do to put that rotor on? that screw doesnt look like it'll go into the little pin thing. it doesnt look like any screw would honestly.
