i just picked up a 91 HF with a b16 swap with a few probs. it has a code 7 and code 22 on at the moment, but i'm trying to fix another problem first. whenever i put the car into reverse..i hear the main relay clicking on and off pretty fast. when i take it outa reverse it stops. anyone have any idea why this would happen? maybe its not the main relay..but its coming from right where the main relay is. should i just replace the relay?

does anything go wrong when you put it in reverse or does it just make a noise? I say don't fix it unless it is broke.

i second that....
dont worry about it if ur car isn't stalling or bogging out

 

yes, something is wrong. the main relay starts clicking and the car goes dead unless i rev it a little.

 

welcome to the wonderfull world of hf's.....

cut the wire at b9 on the ecu clip and the problem goes away.

 

is there anything else i need to change on my HF?
