Ok, so the details first: my brother's car, '91 240SX, weighs ~2600lbs with him in it, just picked up some 225/45-16 V710s and 245/45-16 R3S04s (maybe R3S05s, if that makes a big difference). We're wondering if there would be any problem with him running the Kumhos front and Hoosiers rear. The pressures I found seemed to point to ~35psi (and NOT EVER over 40, heh heh) hot for the 710s and ~40-42psi hot for the Hoosiers.
When pricing street tires for my buddys S2k I was told not to miss match the tires because they will have different characteristics (sidewalls, grip, break away)
I dont see why it would be different for a track car. Maybe however it would be more controlable/predictable with a more experianced driver.
If you do do it, post back your results. Good luck

I tried that a while back during a test day (mixed Kumho V700s and the Hoosiers from 2-3 years ago) and it was real spooky! The car wandered down the straights like I had 1/4" rear toe out.

Really...aren't the V700s and V710s pretty different as far as behavior goes though? I thought the 710s and Hoosiers were kind of comparable.
