will a d series engine bolt into my 1985 crx?
I wouldn't be able to tell you, but if you check at Red Pepper Racing they'd be able to tell you anything and everything about that chassis.
my guess is that yeah you have to make some motor mounts and its probly gonna take a lot of measuring and troublshooting to get the motor in the right place for everything to line up right

the JDM "browntop" DOHC ZC along with the 86-89 USDM Integra D16A1 engines are the only D-series that will bolt in to the 1st gen chassis mounts - with either, you need these parts from an 86-89 Integra: transmission, intermediate shaft, axles, knuckles/hubs, ECU and shift linkage - if your CRX is not Si model, you will need the complete fuel system (tank, lines, etc.) and most of the wiring from 85-87 CRX Si - to use 88-89 D16A1, you will need to do a lot of creative wiring in order to use the 88-89 electronic ignition advance (86-87 have vacuum advance ignition like 85-87 CRX Si) - not quite a direct bolt-in, but as close as you will get
