civic si tranny swap into civic ex possible? worth it?
I currently have a 2006 civic ex AUTO, and thats a problem. Would the quartermile time be better with the 6 speed si transmission vs the 5 speed normally put on the manuals?
I've thought about trading the whole car in for a manual, but I know this one's history and I just feel better keeping the same car.
I wouldn't buy a new 6 speed transmission, I'd try to pull one out of a junked civic si, or maybe even rsx-s?

motors are diff ... trans do NOT bolt up
and if the EX tranny you did you'd have numerous other things to swap also.

If you're concerned about the quarter mile, just trade in for an SI.
The hassle to get a base model D/L/Ex running the same as an SI just isn't worth it.. That one turbo'd R18 auto is able to keep up with an SI that's stock. So basically you're gonna have to pour a lot of money into yours just to make it as quick as a stock SI, and at that point you have to ask yourself why not just trade it in/sell it?

In my own oppinion doing an auto to manual swap on any car is a waste of time, money, and headache's. Your better to just buy a manual. Bisi Moto engineering makes an H-Series to D-Series coversion plate... But no D-Series to K-Series swaps that i know of.

hmm I like that idea. but I havnt heard about anyone doing it, I wonder how long it will be until someone does... then the price will decide if i follow through with that. but if i turbo, wont the 5 spd actually be better? because it'll probably be stronger and i wont have to shift as much so i can stay in boost more?
Staying in boost more is what it's all about!!111111111111111111111
If you can find a 4spd, that would be better.
Seriously that is the most hilarious claim ever. ****** think about it!!!!! think about what going fast is. Spend your $ on school instead of mods for christ's sake.
EDIT:
My above post pointing out how retarded you are, disregards the fact that you are considering swapping the tranny on your BRAND NEW NON-PERFORMANCE AUTOMOBILE

I agree with most of the majority is to trade and buy an si. Too much work and money is going to be spent trying to convert. If anything plausible is supercharger. Because your running a single cam so supercharger will be much better for power output.
