Baffled oil pan users please chime in
i installed my moroso oil pan that says it uses the stock pickup so i didnt change it. but now the oil light stays on forever during start up . maybe my pressure sensor is wacking out but the car runs fine , vtec engages and what not but on the first start of the day the oil light stays on forever. any users experience this problem with baffled oil pans or should i be looking at something else?
Which pan do you have and I guess the obvious question would be do you have enough oil in there?
I have the Moroso 5.5 qt pan and haven't experienced any problems like that.

Yeah I'm not sure about that one either. Mine is different it is kicked out on the back to allow it to hold a little more oil. It's also Aluminum.

I highly doubt it's the pan because that's Moroso's closest OEM style pan made to work with the factory pick-up (but with increased capacity). I say try a new gage. Yours could be wiggin' out. Or it's the sending unit.
I run Fastline Performance baffles (from heeltoeauto) in my OEM pan (B18c). $20 for the baffles and $20 to weld them in. I've never had this problem with my oil pressure gage. It's a good budget mod, but I'm sure your Moroso is fine. Now get that thing on the track

i cant see if theres a kickout on that pan but it does look like the steel 5.5qt roadrace pan. i have the same one and i dont have any oil pressure issues on start up and im running a remote m1-204 filter and a cooler. 7qt oil changes
i'd try changing out the stock sending unit or put in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

ya its really weird , i dont hear clacking or knocking like there is no oil in startup . it takes a bit for it to go away , then it stays off it never flickers . and i know its got good pressure while driving because vtec works.
im wondering if the sending unit is wigging out.......

Moroso does make another pan that looks like stock, but holds 5 quarts. Now that I'm looking at your pics closer, it looks like you have the factory capacity pan. Either way, it's a nice product. Check that gage or sending unit

My pops' gage stopped working on his c5 a month ago and he finally replaced the sending unit yesterday. Viola! It works again...

chris</TD></TR></TABLE>its weird it seems to stay on till i rev to 2500 then it goes away and nevewr comes back on even when the car idles at 5-600 rpms...... any idea on what that could be ? the oil is honda 5w30 and the itr pump is brand new.

so,if you rev it to 2500 wihing a second of starting,it will go away.or,if you were to wait 10 minutes before revving it,it would stay on the whole time?
i'd replace the sending unit.best thing would be to invest in a pressure gauge though,so you can really see what's going on.

i replaced the sending unit today . im gonna put a guage on it too . i might take hte pan down and check the pickup too . so weird vtec engages perfectly so i know its getting 40psi or more......
Did you replace the little oil pickup gasket? You'd be surprised at the havoc that little thing can wreak when it goes bad.
