Default Front License Plate

Hey everyone, this question is kinda specific to Virginia drivers. I was wondering if anyone drives without their front plates on, and if they get bothered by the police or not? I live up in northern Virginia and i see a few cars without front plates here and there. The reason i'm asking is because the plastic mounting bracket the dealership gave me is digging into my bumper and is eating through my clear coat. I took it off and do not intend on putting it back. I've seen a few cars on here with trimmed plates to fit into the grill but i'd rather not have one at all (front plates ruin the front of FG's).

Any thoughts on this would be great, thanks.

Plenty of states require front plates. Many drivers in CA just don't care about them. The police are most of the time lazy enough to agree with us.

I drive with my plates off and keep in the glove box just in case. It just all depends on the city your driving in. Just be aware thats all the advice I got for you if you ride dirty like me!

Wow I was reading through the posts and I read the one "front license plate relocator" post and I had just finished doing the same thing, except i cut my license plate in half right below the letters and numbers. I figured I would just zip tie it into my grill and that would be that. But then i decided to flip the bracket the other way. I hope chopping your plates isnt illegal....i mean there was nothing written on that part of the plate anyway. So it looks exactly like the plate in that DIY on 8thcivic.com except mines chopped and doesnt hang below the grill...cuz i chopped the mount too
