94 American/JDM SOHC differences
I have a 94 accord with the 2.2 F22B2, SOHC. Timing belt snapped last spring so I got a JDM SOHC for the replacement. The swap went over fine, just had to redo the wiring for the EGR valve to get the plugs to match. It ran fine for a few months but has recently been having trouble/does not want to idle. As soon as I step on it the motor gets up and runs fine, but when I come to a stop the rpms fall below idle, sometimes they kick back up and sometimes they don't. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Engine recieved many new sensors during the swap, new EGR, MAP, all new vaccuum lines. Does anyone know of any other differences in the American market and JDM SOHC motors? Thanks.
Sorry, i don't know the answer for you. But interested to know the solution since my friend's old cd5 used to do that.... and his new one seems to do it sometimes too.

I figured that I would start by doing the Idle Air Control valve and Fast-Idle Thermo Valve cleaning under Accord FAQs, probably won't have the time until spring break. But I'll let you know how it works out.
If there's a vacuum leak, it's on one of the plastic nipples that connects to the vacuum canister on the passenger side. It broke when I was redo-ing all the vacuum lines, so I took it out and epoxy+silicon to re-attach the nipple, it didn't seem to leak, but who knows. Any idea how much a new one of those will run me?
try to see if you have a "idle/boost bolt" on your throttle body. the bolt is on there but it is holding NOTHING, so it kinda hidden. my friend told me that if you turn that bolt you can gain about 5-10 hp. it like a secret hidden hp gain bolt. it only on mitsu, acura and some honda. so i guess it worth a try befor you buy anything that you dont need.
There is an "idle adjustment valve", I've tried to use that to adjust the idle, didn't really do anything from being all the way in to all the way out. If this is what you're talking about, I doubt there's a horsepower gain. Probably just the equivalent of tightening up the throttle cable since the idle is higher, less throttle=more air+fuel.
