How do I shut off this alarm? DEI Viper 300
I just bought a used car and it came with a Viper alarm system. When I bought the car, the alarm was not activated. The guys at the dealership looked at it, and got it working.
I believe it is the Viper 300 series. My remote only has 2 buttons with a LED light in the middle.
However, the alarm is getting really annoying. Right now, it autolocks the doors and arms the alarm 30 seconds after the last door closes. I have set the alarm off so many times because of it arming itself.
Furthermore, it is impossible to take it to a dealership because they usually leave the keys in the car, and the autolocking and autoarming could definitely be a problem.
Is it possible to disable the autolock/autoarm feature on this alarm? How in the heck do I put the car in Valet Mode(the mode that it was originally in) for my trips to the dealership?
Please help on this, I need to take my car in as soon as possible.

It is possible to turn this off, easiest thing to do is take it to a DEI dealer and pay them $10 to do it. You can find a dealer at directed.com.
I don't know why people have such a problem with this alarm and this feature. I have the same exact alarm and have had no problems with it whatsoever. If you leave the door open when you start the car the doors will not auto lock. I took my car in to get serviced and once again, no problems. It really isn't that big a deal and in my opinion is a good safety feature. A car jacker can't get into the car if your door is locked. So my advice, deal with it.
