Default Skunk2 lowering springs feedback

has anyone put these skunk2 lowering springs on their SI? does it make the car all bouncy because it says it will lower the car approx. 2 1/2 inches? how is the ride quality compared to the SI setup? Thanks, -nathan

It will be bouncy unless you upgrade the shocks/struts.

2.5 inch drop on our cars is pretty dumped, very little travel on struts. Bouncy, bounce.

that sucks, i wouldn't have thought skunk2 would make something that would negatively affect the handling of the car.

Why?? Any lowering spring that is so aggressive will make your car bouncy if you dont upgrade the struts. Skunk2 didnt make something that negatively affects the cars handling, just cheap ***/uneducated people who dont do it the "right" way do.

many companies make "lowering springs" for this year car and all their ride heights vary. how is a person supposed to know which one improves quality and which one drops quality without trying firsthand. thats why i said i cant beleive they would make it so you HAD to buy the additional struts as well. how was i supposed to know the minumum and maximum travel points of this honda shock when i've only had it for 1 day?

Because any lowering spring needs upgraded shocks/struts. Now you know, your educated.

skunk2 springs have comparable progressive spring rates to most of the other off the shelf lowering springs.

as posted above they are best paired with some new struts that are designed for lowered vehicles and shortened stroke.

most lowering springs are going to be stiffer than stock, there for giving a more 'bouncy' feeling ride.

It is tough to maintain stock comfort in a lowerd vehicle if that is your goal.

well, tbh, i was just wanting to know if the ride would be similar to EG hatches with 45$ coilovers dropped 3 inches.<--- thats getting too boucy for me. but if its just a little stiffer than stock, i won't mind that one single bit. i guess it all depends on what we all consider to be a bouncy or hard ride.

It wont be as bad, but it will be a little bouncy.

^^would you describe it as an uncomfortable ride or stiff springs?

It will be in between, but once the shocks/struts blow it will be way worse.

ok, well i put them on, and it must lower the non-SI models 2 1/2 cuzz it lowered my si about 1 1/2. the ride quality was not affected at all, and it handled the corners better and has a more aggressive stance. SKUNK2 gets an A+ from me.

They need to settle. It take a couple days. Also give it a couple months and you will get the bouncy......the struts/shocks will blow and you will know exactly what were talking about. 'Till then.....enjoy.

Seriously...hopefully by then some aftermarket performance struts come out!

I think I may be sold on coilovers.

Koni makes their sport strut for the FG, no need to wait.

Really? I thought that was 6mo out from now. And they still aren't listed on http://www.koni.com or http://www.konisport.com. And I can't find any reference of them on any common vendors.

http://www.koni.com/_cars/frame.html

is where the catalog is. nothing for our cars (at least in print). you could always call and check..

the konisport section is springs and struts with springs (no struts alone just kits)

Hmm, they were listed as being out in Sport Compact Car. I would E-mail or PM CRXLee to find out.
