Can the bulb in the ashtray/lighter be swapped out with an ITR bulb bought from the dealer to get the amber color or does the ashtray/lighter need to be swapped with an ITR?

 

the whole unit must be swapped, cuz it's an amber film not amber bulb. how do u like ur HIDs? do they look purple from the outside?

 

try ebay for the pieces. i purchased pretty much the whole itr dash components from ebay. then changed my mind and sold them again at a nice profit

yeah they are purple...thinking about getting 4100K

 

If you remove your ashtray you can see that there is a bulb in there with a condom on it...I know that the climate control panel has the amber filter but does the ashtray? I didn't see anything that would filter the light because the bulb is exposed...

 

its really funny. mine has never worked in my r and i am glad of that.

 

can u still ese well with the 6000K kit? is it better than 9005 conversion u think? and oh yea if it's a 194 bulb that lite sup the ash tray then yea u can change it

 

it is bright as hell...way better than the 9005 conversion. it is a lot more "purpleish blue" than most HID you see which in turn doesn't light up the road as much as 4100K-4300K but the color is worth the minimal loss.

 

There is a light only for the ashtray... the light for that is white. There is no lighter surround light on my ITR at least...
