Are you the guy who had a huge thread(50 something pages) trying to sell his blitz about a year ago? I lost track of that thread....man the repolished even the bolts and nuts!

Anyways, care to share how you redid the lip? Did you have to sand down the corrosion? Or had it professionally done?

i actually sold these in like september 06 and my thread was not that long. everything was original on my blitz except for the polished lips and the rivets were original coat. i had my rims professionally machine polished. if you are doing it by hand then you will need to strip off all teh old clearcoat and start w/ like 320 grit and go up from there. u will also need to use compounds and polish them last with metal polish. all i did after i had mine done was polish them w/ NEV-R-DULL metal polish every car wash to keep up the shine.

i had mine done at a local shop for $20 per barrel but i had to remove the bolts and put them back on afterwards.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is dirt cheap! I wish I could find a shop here that would do it for $20 a barrel. Can you give me the shop number where you got it done? I'm gonna see if its worth sending them to a buddy to have it repolished.

So if you have it professionally repolished, you dont have to strip the clear? That would be nice, I thought there was no way of getting around it.

Looks good.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing to some Rays Engineering Texan Shotguns for my xB. I've polished half the bolts so far. I am going to have the chrome stripped and the centers polished instead of re-chroming. However, your wheels look like they're in a bit better shape than mine.

They are 16x7, +37, 4/5x100 (yes, there are nine holes per wheel). The back of the chrome centers are really badly oxidized, but a chemical dip should take care of that.

Read his post. He mentions that he did them himself.
