Default **valve cover thread broken**

i was putting my valve cover back on today and *pop*....the thread broke off with the bolt stuck on it. wth i didn't even tighten it that much and it broke off...anybody kno how much this costs to get fixed? oh yea and also my dumbass accidentally used a spark plug cover bolt to screw onto the valve cover itself and now it won't move..it rotates but doesn't move up any. how much would this all cost to get fixed? any ideas?

go to a honda or acura dealer and buy new studs that screw down into the head. they r about $3 a piece. the ones on the corners are different than the ones by the plugs.

try a machine shop. same thing happend to my friend when he was bolting down his valve cover on his 93 civic ex. He tried to make it gorilla tight instead of using the torque specs. they should be able to drill the piece and screw it off.

Exactly the problem I had..

I took my dremel, and shaved the crown off the bolt, there was no way for me
to pull the bolt off...

They should be torqued to 86 in-lbs or 7 ft-lbs. I am assuming your were talking about the torque on the valve cover nuts. When you put the bolt in the head, I think it should be 20ft-lb, but I need to check my helms, and it is in my trunk.
