my situation is that i found a b18c5 for my project and the price is 1600usd.. shipped.. it is a great deal.. but is it legit? i do have pics of it. here they are

that seems like a great deal but is there anything wrong with the engine bc thats a very low price for a gsr motor

his story is that he opened up a sho in ukraine and hes guna close it.. he its "complete swap" lsd, wiring harness, ecu, cables, axels, hoses, mounts and so on.. 4000miles..

 

why are there two different engine codes, are there 2 different engines??? ask him to take the head off so that you can see what kind of condition the pistons and valves are. I don't want to not suggest you to buy it but just have him send you some more info. I have a similar situation and the head I got was a Four letter word plus ed at the end, the block was aight except for one piston, but I have the guys number, his email, and know the exact location of his brothers shop, lets just say were planning on taking a little visit there soon( i'm not sure which smiley to use for what i just said so) .

 

yea he said he did have 2 of them at his shop in ukraine... and he has one in the states...

 

i dunno man i would ask for some more pictures at least with the head off thats the least he can do for you if your going to pay that kind of cash, maybe one of the other guys on here might be able to give some more tips so i will BUMP it up, good luck though i hope its fine because that is a hella good deal if it is

 

make sure he uses lube, because you're probably going to get screwed... it isn't cheap the ship stuff oversea's and he can't be making money on this..

agreed, I wouldn't deal with anyone overseas unless they have people that can vouch for them

ditto, you would do way better by, buying from a company like hmotors, or someone like that. See they have a reputation to maintain. and if they cheated anyone, well then they would be the one screwed. this is def. a scam.

The offer is definitely sketchy at best - 1600 for a complete ITR swap shipped from Ukraine?! IMO, I'd rather spend more and purchase a swap from a reputable source.
