No it's not good. You CAN do it in first gear from a very slow roll, put it in and out without the clutch, but why would you even consider doing this to begin with?

synchro matching. It doesnt hurt anything as long as you are well aware of what you are doing. You can shift 2-5 without using the clutch, but why do it when there is a perfectly good clutch pedal

No im saying going from in gear to out of gear ...to neutral. Not downshifting which obviously is better when u rev match.

wont hurt a thing. Match the sychro and pull it out of gear. If you are in gear and speed up just a tad, then let off while putting some pressure on the shifter it will damn near fall out of gear.

you can pull it out of gear fine if there is no load on the motor either accelerating or decelerating.

If you put slight pressure on the stick out of gear and blip the gas it will fall out of gear. and it is completely fine to do.

So yes you can pull it out of gear with out using the clutch

He didn't say shift which you can do without the clutch he said pull it out of gear. which is surprisingly easy to do. If per say you were lazy.

just because you dont have enough skills to shift w/o the clutch doesnt mean its bad for the car.

i do it all the time, its a matter of preference.

i do it sometimes

you can pull the gear out but you need to revmatch to shift into gear without clutching, or else you'll hear a pleasant grinding sound

You could take it out of gear without clutching.

"If the car is OFF"

Even then, I wouldn't recommend it. Even when my car is Off, I clutch then change gear. You never know if a spring will pop.

There's a reason why a clutch is a Clutch.

Definition: Clutch = Disengage one gear so you can move to another.

The question is not dumb, if you keep shifting without clutch, that may be dumb.

If people are tired of shifting or pressing on the clutch pedal get an auto.
