Flywheel Inquiry
Out of the flywheels listed which would you recommend. I am planning on adding to this set up a ACT Heavy Duty Clutch with the Street/Strip disk. The Master Plan is for the car to have about 185-200HP to the wheels when I am finished.
Price is not the concern quality is.
Spoon $360
JUN Lightweight $400
ITR $225

from what i hear Toda is the way to go, my friend had a june and after 5k miles it was full of hot spots, i've got the exedy wich is very similar to the Toda and alittle cheaper, i like it.
I've read that the Jun has problems with the starter.
The ITR isn't that much lighter, 2~3 lbs.
BTW, where can you get the Spoon fw for 360? Lowest i've seen was 400.
For more opinions on flywheels, search/ask in the itr forum. There is a lot posted there.

i'm glad youre happy, i paid 300 shipped for the same product and i've heard from several sources that toda comes out of the same factory in Japan that makes diken that make excedy.

I thought the title said "Flywheel Injury" at first
I remember in the old h-t archives that you're supposed to use a delsol vtec starter with the jun flywheel because the GSR starter may not always work with it

I have the Jun flywheel at the moment, and yes, the starter problem occurs about 5% of the time. It's not often, but it always happens at the worst times for me. Get the Toda..
Also, I'm interested in this whole Del Sol starter w/Jun flywheel thing. If that works, then I'd do that definitely. If not, I have an ITR flywheel collecting dust in my apartment right now that I could always put on to fix the problem (and save my energy in chicago traffic.)

What???
Its not going to break...the only reason you WOULDNT want a lighter flywheel is if youre worried that in daily driving you're going to have stall problems. After a day with the light flywheel, you'll be used to it like anything else. The whole thing is blown way out of proportion.
And I ask again...what???

I've heard many nasty stories too, but they were from people who heard it from their friend's cousin's roomate's mom's friend's aunt. I've never really heard a first-hand account of a flywheel flying off and cutting off someone's leg. I suppose a scattershield would give you a small sense of security. Although i have heard of one story from an EMT somewhere before i can't seem to recall it.
