Default Ecu Question

What is the difference between obd2A and obd2B i know B started in 00 but what exactly is different about those two ecus. I checked the FAQ thread but no info about the differences. If anyone knows. Help out

The plugs are different; so they cannot be interchanged.

As far as differences in the way it functions, I'm not sure. My best guess would be OBDIIb is more restrictive when it comes to emissions.

OBD-2b is also when the immobilizer system was incorporated.
