Default d16z6 into 89 civic dx - mpfi/obd1 convert. unable to check engine codes?

The engine is a d16z6, ecu is a p28, car is an 89 dx. I used a premade obd conversion harness and did the mpfi/distributor wiring myself.

Whats happening now is the car will not start, it cranks but has no spark, and the check engine light , along with the oil light, just stays on when the key is turned to "on". i have replaced the main relay, and i know its not the igniter or ignition switch.

I'v run out of things to check and have done extensive searching here and all over the internet.

Someone please just point me in the right direction, what can i check next?

Thanks,
Shane

Have you jumped the service connector and it still just has a solid CEL?

First check All your fuses in the underhood fusebox, and Grounds on the thermostat housing, then double check your conversion harness make sure pin a13 of the obd1 ecu runs to b6 on the original harness.. Then you should be able to ground pind D4 on the obd1 ecu and get your codes that your throwing... What type/Brand of conersion harness are you using??? Do you hear your fuel pump prime?

I've checked all the fuses, they were all fine. checked the grounds as well. The harness I'm using is made by boomslang.

I didn't really notice if the fuel pump was priming so I'll check that when i get home as well as pin a13.
By ground D4 do you mean that will override the service connector? or should i jumper the connector as well?

Thanks,
Shane

Yes D4 Needs to be grounded to check you CEL from the dash... Depending on how the Jumper harness is made they may not have wired it to the factory jumper connection possibly?? Just see where it runs to and ground it Ecu Known good?
