EBC RED ?
I have ebc reds on my car. Since I have put them on I have done some hpde's, autocross, and track days. The question I have is; what should the pads look like? My pads on the surface area are not smooth anymore they are coarse like a stone. Is this common with this type of pads? Thanks

Cobalt is
But I honestly never had trouble with my red stuff pads on my old Integra.

I did my full road racing season last year with the EBC Yellowstuff on my DC2 with no problems too.

So is Carbotech's "Bobcat" compound comparable to the Cobalt GT-Sport, as far as their purpose? I do HPDEs on GT-Sports now, but will try something else the next time around. I'm not unsatisfied with them, I just want to gain some first hand experience with different pads.
Which compounds are most of the Carbotech guys running on race day?

IF you are doing HPDE and drive the car on the street, I recommends AX6 or XP8.
If the car is heavy with small brakes and it is dedicated race car try XP10 or XP12

cobalt friction ftw.
andie sets the bar for the best customer service in the history of car parts.
the pads kick *** (spec VR's and GT-sports) so i can imagine their new compounds are going to be even better.

Just order directly from http://www.cobaltfriction.com - I've ordered items from them a couple times per year for the past several years and been nothing but satisfied.

That guy civicrr is a chump. He doesn't even race anymore because he is too lazy to go through his car after he won the 25 hour...again.

At an HPDE this past Friday someone was using EBC yellow stuff on his S2000 and they were holding up very well. According to him, EBC changed management and revamped their products. The best thing is that he paid about 60% of other racing brake pads. I still haven't found specific information on these pads, like MOT, for reference to other pads.
