The TB is part of the intake SYSTEM. It should be upgraded as a system to match the characteristics of your motor.
What have you done to make the stock TB too restrictive?

well thats the point, i've been watching and reading views from different people on the subject of TB's for the H22 for months now and untill recently i was under the impression that even on stock H22's the standard item is to small, smaller than on a itr that has less power and less capacity, i'm no expert and i'm trying to figure this all out, have you seen any info on this subject bb2h22? i posted on here a little while back about basically the same thing but again views were mixed, i think in the end i'm probably going to buy it once i get some money scraped together and see for myself. has anyone already done this before, on a stock or relatively stock vtec motor and seen any postive results?

I have no idea if a bigger TB will make power on a stock motor though.

I remember that thread. There was another one where I said it doesnt make sense that a bigger tb would help a stock motor... then everyone and their momma bitched for several posts about the h22 being starved for air, even stock motors need a bigger tb. Then you come to a thread like this and people are saying that they don't need more air unless you given it a reason to want more air. It seems to me that no one really KNOWS. It would be nice if someone were able to dyno a stock motor and a modded motor before and after. Until then, we may never know.

Well if you upgrade to a bigger TB, your intake manifold will still be as small as the old TB. Even if you port-match it, the rest of the intake manifold may still be a restriction. IMO, you don't need a bigger TB.
