I think alot of it depends on how much money a 15 year old has access to

I would love for my son to build one like this when he turns 15. The only thing is that there would be a D15B under the hood when it is done.

To me, it doesn't look bad at all as far as a theft recovery goes. It's not going to be cheap to rebuild it, but I would say if you (or your parents if they are willing to chip in) can afford to rebuild it, then I would by all means. At 15, this would be a great experience for you. Work on it with someone very knowledgeable, and you will gain lots of good experience that will aide you in the future. Give her a new life, but treat her well and respect the vehicle. And by respecting the vehicle, I mean dont street race, dont beat the crap out of it, take care of it, and if you really feel the urge to go fast then join the SCCA or NASA and goto a HPDE.

If you decide not to rebuild her, I am sure there are many people in this forum who gladly would.

you can be affended if you want, but I think a type R is too much for you and you will crash it. The car doesnt handle/feel like the other civics and integras and its easy to lose control while driving it hard.

You can forget about taking it to your highschool parking lot, the movies, or anywhere else where you wont be checking up on it often.

Just listen to you dad, and do whatever he tells you to, cause his the one whos going to be paying for insurance, broken parts, and theift

if I was 16 and had the shell just laying around and my parents were willing to spend the money to fix it, I would probably fix it. (i know i kinda contradicted myself but whateveR )

Look's like not that bad of a rebuild... Front end, motor, interior and a paintjob.
Easier then I put it, I know But damn at 15. That's gotta be fun.

Good luck with the rebuild.

Rebuild it as stock.

Make sure insurance doesn't rape you when it is wrecked.

First of i'm glad to see that you've got a type R a 15yrs old.. congrats. As far as rebuilding, i'd say to leave it to the enthusiast because the amount of time and responsibility it takes to care and secure a type R is just too much(not to mention it is salvaged so if theft should occur, the insurance could expletive you). Its like walking around with money exposed, you never know who, what or where the car theft is going to occur. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that you're not responsible(because i don't know you), but it would be easier owning a different model Honda. Just my opinion.

Good luck anyways, hope the rebuild goes well and keep her safe x100!

yeah I started saving most of my money since I got the car, My parents say they will partially chip in but i dont want them to throw all there money in something they wont have fun in. I dont want to go ricey with this, I want it to be nice, clean and reliable, but still tear it up on the track.Everytime I look at the car, I just think that she will turn out pretty again.

Im planning on building it, with my older cousin that owns a auto shop.

Yes. bring her back to life. If you can ofcourse... like the others said its going to be tough if you do. My R was brought back to life from a total loss due to front end collision. It's good now but it took work. Your R looks like just cosmetics as for body (good luck with the back though). I would put a K20A in it.
Nice for a first car.
Just PLEASE don't rice it out!

I believe he was referring to anti-theft measures, not security of its condition.

I'd buy something to drive daily, so you can take your time with restoring the Type-R... It doesn't look bad at all (As far as salvaged R shells go), so spend some money on it, spend some time on it, and you'll have a nice car.

I was expecting to see more hate, so I'm a little surprised. Don't listen to people telling you "you'll crash it cuz you're only 15." Everybody is different. Stick with it if you have the funding for it and you'll have one kick *** car for sure, just don't do anything stupid or you'll just prove the people that said you'd crash it right. Good luck man, keep us updated.

Out of curiousity what does a 15 yr old do to get money to rebuild a car? I was broke as hell back then haha.

$4k for the motor
$$ for interior
$$ for random body parts

etc

That's some baller money for a 15 year old, especially if it's not going to be your only car? What's your daily going to be?

Best of luck to you though haha
