NASA Rules: Where do you find AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code?
Posted in the welding forum and no luck.
AWS wants 376$:
http://www.awspubs.com/product...d=325
So how to find out what these standards are without having to fork over almost $400?

don't worry about it. just get good penetration, etc. and you will be fine. even if you do get a copy and read it, you/me/we won't understand what it says or wants anyway.
it is likely inspection criteria that isn't that applicable anyway (how many welds need to be inspected each week of each welder in the shop, how to test and certify the welds by bending x° etc.)
some of the best welders i have worked with don't know what the books say but i would trust my life to the quality of their welds.
its sort of like the requirement to use door bars that meet nascar rules but no one can find out the nascar rules.
