will 2000 SiR suspension w/front forks fit in my 90 civic dx?
I got the setup from a 00 civic SiR with only 57,000 on it for a good deal and I need new suspension on my 90 dx. I measured the front forks and Im quite sure they will fit, but the U brackets on the rear struts will have to be widened by about .5 inch as far as I can tell. has anyone done this swap before??
The only issues beyond that the suspension is geared (shock valving and spring rates) for a different chassis is that....well, you've called it. The diameter of the shock bodies and their forks. Now with the rear, if you really want to modify the shock body you'd better have a damn good welder putting it back together.
I'm just going to bend it out, its only .25 of an inch for each side. its either that or shave down the bushings in the LCA's to match the shock, either way doesnt bother me. I understand the springrates and valving is different. if the spring rate bothers me I'll put my EF springs back on, and the SiR struts should act like a performance strut for my application, give or take. thank you for your input dr_latino999
