Default JLBmotorsports beware

I purchased wheels and tires from JLBmotorsport.com in Corona Ca.

The price was good.

One of the tires came badly out of balance and I called ask if they would credit me the mounting and balancing, they said NO!

I would suggest you shop elsewhere.

I can't say anything bad about the sale, the sales person was helpful, and the price was good.

One of the tires was not balanced properly. That tire had over 3 ounces of weight stacked in a pile. The tire should've been repostioned on the rim.

Now I have to take the tire to another tire shop, go in and say "well, I didn't buy these tire here, but would you balance them?" and pay $15 or $20/tire.

Yeah, I probably saved more than 20 buck on the deal. JLB charged $40 for balancing, all I ask them was, "since I have to pay someone to fix your error, could I get a $40 credit."

They said "No"

I would've accepted a store credit. I will probably be buying exhaust parts in the future, but not from JLBMotorsports.

Hi,

Just to let everyone know, all of his wheels (and all of our other customers wheels) never leave the shop before they read 0's on our balancer. This customer was not happy that the wheels took more than 2 ounces of balancing weight. With inexpensive wheels / tires, it is sometimes necessary to use this much weight to achieve a proper balance. If any of our wheels reach more 4oz of weight or more, we rotate the tire and balance again. If it still won't balance, we use a different wheel / tire. We balance using a state of the art dual plane balancer.

After receiving his wheels (not before ordering), this customer let us know that he never wants more than 2oz of weight to balance a wheel. This can be impossible at times. We've sold literally thousands of mounted and balanced wheels on Honda-Tech, and this is the first complaint like this we have. We take all complaints very seriously, and we work diligently to offer only the best service and protect our repuation. Knowing that no wheels / tire combos leave our facility without being perfectly balanced, and knowing that out of the thousands we've done we never have had a complaint, we couldn't offer this customer a refund for the balancing based on the information that he gave us.

If anyone is curious as to how we balance, we would like to invite local customers to come down and we'll be glad to show you. If need be, I will make an instruction video and upload it as well. I want to make sure everyone is clear on how serious we take our job, and how thorough we perform our work.

More often than not we are threatened and held for ransom with posts like this when we will not give a customer a discount or refund that they want. As much as we'd like to avoid these type of posts, we can't send money out to just anyone that asks for it. We do occasionally make mistakes, and when we do we are more than willing to quickly offer compensation.

Thank you,

Dustin

^^^Excellent response^^^

I was very pleased with my transaction through JLB.

OP sounds kind of shady to me.

All I said was that usually when more than 2 ounces is needed, an experianced tire man will reset the tire on the rim. That is what I had done this afternoon, 1 1/2 ocunce maximum on a wheel that had 3 1/4 stacked on top of each other. Had this done at my regular tire shop, they charged me nothing.

Wow! they earned a customer for life.

So was the wheel actually out of balance or did you just not like the way the weights were installed? There's a difference.

anywho JLB gets a from me, they've always taken very good care of me.

Yes it was shaking pretty bad. I located which one it was (had to be 1 of 2), by putting a factory wheel and tire on one at a time.

We reset the wheel and it was ok. We also reset the other one than had weights stacked on top of each other, even though it checked ok. The other 2 were perfect.

I was not trying to hold JLB for ransom as they said.

The wheels were an exellent price because they were a discontinued set, and I think they didn't make enough on them to feel confortable giving me a refund for the balancing.

I suppose I shouldn't complain. I learned my lesson, I'll stay with a local tire shop, because they can & will stand behind the sale. How can a tire dealer stand behind tires when the customer is 2000 mile away?

I appologize to anyone that is happy with JLB, that I may have offended.

P.S. I am shopping for a DNX muffler from my local NAPA store.

my experience with JLB was good too, I have no complains.
But this guy does have a point......one wheel was shaking. Either way I think it would be reasonable to give the guy store credit for 10-15$.....Stuff like that does happen, nobody is perfect. It is the way seller handles those kinds of situations, that's what matters.
JLBMotorsports guys are cool, I guess you should have been a little more respectfull while talkng to them....

Oleg,

I was respectfull, when I spoke with them.

They just thought I was trying to get something for nothing.

It doesn't matter. It got taken care of anyway.

The car looks great, rides smooth and straight.

What else can I ask for? I'm done with this thread and JLB.

3 ONCES IN ONE SPOT? WOW talk about out of wack.that is a ridiculous sized weight for a passanger car.i have never needed mor than 1.75 onces on one wieght to do a tire.i think someone was to lazy to air out the tire and twist it.It is sad how one little shortcut can be such a headache for so many people. At least u got it fixed easy.
