1988 crx emmisions with glasspack
I'm just about to buy a 1988 crx with a glasspack in place of the catalytic converter. where it was located did not need emmisions, but here it does. my question is if the glasspack acts in any way as a catalytic converter?
and also, are there any exemptions to the law?

Well the glasspack is not a cat. Not even close. It is a muffler.
You will have to ask a smogtech in your area to see what is needed.
If it is in the US it should have a cat. But individual states may differ.
You would be considered a gross polluter in California.

im in ohio and my county is one of only 4 in ohio that still require emmissions, so I'm guessing I'll have to buy a catalytic converter, but if I get the car I will be broke. I'll see what I can do
