Hope you gave him a warranty. Nothing bigger than a Sk stage 1 or "R" cam

Damn > 12 mm of lift on a ITR valvetrain....

Rocket posted the results of a valve spring test not long ago. I would definitely re-think s2s2 on ITR springs.

Good deal, because that person would have eventually dropped a valve with just ITR springs and retainers.

I would be weary even with a stg 1 cam, but since you feel eager to cam the motor with stock valve train nothing bigger than stg 1 cams

There is really no reason to pass around information about that stuff.

The manufacturer recommends the springs to a certain height, duration, and RPM and there is no need to go past that because it's playing Russian roulette with your motor.

Consider yourself blessed. But stop giving stupid advice, that is a ridiculos thing to tell someone to do.

Could you explain to me what the hell a valvejob has to do with coil bind issues from running a camshaft with over 12mm of lift on valvetrain designed for much less ?

How does that fly in face of common sense and test results? Please keep that info to yourself and for the sake of you motor and wallet upgrade your VT before something bad happens.

Yep, and for that matter, considering the cost of valvesprings and retainers vice bowl work and new valves + god know what else you can kill, why not spend the extra 400-500 bucks and get good springs and retainers while you are in there. It's "cheap" insurance comparitively when you consider how many miles most B series heads have on them at this time plus how hard they have probably been beaten through their lives.

Dismiss all the "we ran X inappropriate cam and it was cool" BS... stick with what manufacturer's recommend.

I've been running Toda A's on ITR valvetrain for 3 years, spinning them to 8500 almost every time I drive my car without any problems. This is the setup Toda specified on their website...
