Default Pulleys are a hassle

im currently in the middle of a nightmare getting the UR pulleys installed, they are totally not worth it, apparently i had a stripped belt on my powersteering pulley and he had to cut it off and they're gonna have to rethread it which is gonna run me well into 100-200$, so not worth it for 2hp, or whatever the power steering pulley creates, i should've just went with the crank, but it's too late for that, just thought i'd let you all know who are considering this mod.

But if you wouldnt have f'ed it up it would have been good? Pulleys do help you just have to do them right (even if it is only a miniscule amount of power on the butt-dyno) but they dont "make" power, they free some up from mechanical loss.

Let us know in case our bolts are stripped too?

It'd be worth it, even if the bolts were stripped, just because most people would retap the hole or helicoil it instead of dropping $200 on thread repair.

from my understanding ur accessory pulleys arent underdrive pulleys, they are oem diameter. so i dont thing you get any additional power from just the ps pulley. do you mean you stripped the bolt that holds the pulley on? if you do i dont see how the pulley alone did that.

Hmmm why is it the fault of the UR pulley that the bolt hole is stripped? Is it stripped or is the company/shop trying to remove a reverse thread bolt the wrong way ******* it up and charging you for their mistake??

get rid of the pullies, you wont see ANY gain on the dyno and oem is better quality anyway. unless you just want the bling

in my honest opinion i think this guy is just trying to screw me and get tap n die equipment for his place, im going to take the bolt and get it rethreaded somewhere else, as for the pulleys i heard you only see maybe 2-4hp from the alternator/ps and 10-15 from the crank .. i'm going to keep all 3 and well, we'll see how it improves, if any at all.
I'm also having them remove my EGR valve and replace that with one of those KMS sheet metal plates.

you will not ever see that kind of improvement with pulleys. also read in ur website they state that the ps and alt pulleys are oem diameter. they say that they do not believe in using the accesories to underdrive.

Why do you keep paying people to do all this stuff?

Use some of the $$ they wold charge to buy yourself whatever tools you need and then you gain some $$, satisfaction, and the experience of having done it yourself.

not to mention that having tools is never a bad thing.

1. because i'm lazy ... and 2. because i end up breaking things and making them worse off and having to pay someone to fix them... so why not just pay someone to do it anyways? besides its only like 55$ for the whole thing, egr removal + pulleys

finally got the car back and i can feel a difference in throttle response and power, quite content with it, only thing is my idle is fluctuating a little bit, wondering if that was the EGR removal... hmm

so did you put on a new crank pulley and gain the "better response" or just the serpentine pulleys ?
