I was wondering which engine can you find more parts for. the d16 or the sohc zc motor? and which 1 is worth boosting, wen swapping the zc do u need anything different such as axels, mounts? and if Hmotorsonline is a good spot to buy the zc.

Save a few degrees on the cam it's the same damned thing i'd take whats in better shape.

yea they are the same thing, i just did a sohc zc swap, but just because it was easier to me to get one on h-motors online then to have to hunt for an a6 in the junk yard.
i would get a zc from h-motors online if i were you because they have low miles, and of course it is better to turbo a fresher engine, unless somewhere you are going to find an a6 with low miles.
sohc zc is only 499 before shipping, and for 50$ more if you are a vtec junkie you can get a d16z6, same as a6, just with vtec...

Just can never find one when I need one, only when I have no use for them.

Ain't that the truth.

sorry i got my info wrong. hmo has the sohc zc for 395$ and the D15B SOHC VTEC Longblock for 450$
to the maker: if you have an a6 i would just stay with it, if you need a motor well it really depends on how much you can get it for. if you can get the a6 for say 200 cheaper, then you can invest that 200 into the turbo.

would a z6 fit into a crx with no modification besides wiring n ****? like the mounts will it fit?
To fit a D16Z6 change the driver's side mount bracket to one from the D15B2, D16A6, or just about any motor you can find domestically in the ED chassis.
did you look at the z6 at all... it even looks exactly like the a6. so yes it will fit. you will just need an ecu running vtec, and w/e wire changes there are for vtec and i dont know if you are doing an mpfi swap at the same time.

1) Coolant neck out of the head is different
2) Cam gear has a relative different location / elevation
3) Spark plugs on a different side
4) Thermostat housing has coolant sensor
5) No vacuum pots
6) Block says D16Z6

lol, well basically it looks the same as the a6, just looks like the valve cover is backwards...
the point was that looking at the general shape of the z6 and a6 they are the same shape, so the MOUNTS are the same

As I said, the drivers side bracket has to be changed or your motor will be at one hell of an odd angle, not that you'd actually get the other mounts to line up.
