Default Loose Hood?

Hey all - been busy as HELL lately with my promotion. Talk about a mixed blessing.

Any ways, I just noticed yesterday a weird knocking noise coming from the front of my car, and in fact it sound like it was right behind my dash. I thought it was my K&N intake that came a little loose so I pulled right over and popped open the hood. Nothing under the hood moved that wasn't supposed to. After closing the hood and checking to see if it was latched, I noticed some play after it was fully closed, and in fact was making the noise that I was hearing in the cabin.

Has anyone else had this problem? Having a loose hood latch isn't exactly that bad, but if it is defective and isn't going to hold on to the hood at some future point, then it is pretty much not okay. Of course I plan on taking it in to the dealership this week, or next depending on snow (Why is it still snowing ).

Otherwise, my car has been amazing all around, even with all the rattles. And the Skunk2 exhaust (without the silencer) makes every ricer around try to race me. It's like a freaking mating call...

Sorry I can't help you with the hood issue but I'm sure the dealer will "deal" with it

Anyhow, you say the skunk2 exhaust is a mating call for ricers... I say that owning a Civic seems to be enough to have every a-hole trying to race you. Atleast that's how it is with me and I have a stock FG1.

Congrats on the promotion.. and i agree about the mating call

As for the hood latch, sometimes they are just "off a little" and need to be adjusted
should be no problem to take it in and have it serviced

Did you check the little adjustment ***** that level the hood out?

I know one of mine was a bit too low causing the hood to sit low on one end and it moved around a bit. Adjusted that and it's all good now.

You know, I'll check that out. I must have missed it when I peeped it while on the side of the road, and I haven't driven since then.

That is very true, but I noticed a huge increase in bee-can activity the day after I removed the silencer to clean my car (and, oops, I left it out! Sorry hon, I'll put that back in...soon). Maybe it's just a fluke, but I had 5, yes 5, cars ricer-rev and take off on a green light. Admittedly, I raced one stoplight to stoplight because I couldn't tell if it was NA or FI with his instrument cluster. It was NA.

Thanks man!
