Why is 07 Civic cheaper than 06 was?
When I bought my 06 LX the MSRP was $20,067. For the 07 LX version, the MSRP is $18,355.
What are the differences between an 07 and an 06 anyway (besides the MP3 jack)? Any insight into why the 07's are so much cheaper?

That's really cheap! What's the best way to go about getting a good price via the internet/fleet department? I'm thinking of trading in my 06 for an 07, but I'm not sure how much I should be expecting for each.
2007 MSRP = $18,355 (All three dealerships near me have the exact model and color on their lots, so it's not rare)
My 2006 - 11,800 miles, immaculate condition (my friend was just looking at it today and commenting on how they can't believe it still looks brand new inside-and-out). Even the floor mats don't have any spots on them.
Should I get a quote without the trade in first, then talk about the trade in value, or do both together?

Why in the hell do you want to trade in a year old car, you are going to get reamed in the pooper by the dealership any way you look at it. It is pointless and financially retarded to try to trade a year old car in.

I'm not 100% sure I'm going to do it, but I'd like to consider it. Not sure how close to the KBB trade in value I can get, but it says if the car is just in "good" condition (I'd consider it excellent though) the trade in value is 15,000. Even if I only got 12,000 I'd probably still go through with it.

I had an 05 civic lx special edition and when the 06 came out traded it in. I got 13k for the 05 and had negative equity. so my financed amount for the 06 came out to 26k! and this is just for the civic coupe lx. dissappointing i know! i'm a female that got screwed. lol.

WOW, I always do the Internet/Fleet purchase. I got my 07 LX sedan with tint, rubber stripping, mud guards and the Honda alarm for $17,384.
Always go to Fleet, they don't make a percentage on the cost of the sale, they make money if they sell it or not.

go on honda.com
and you can "request a quote" it contacts some dealers in your area for the best pricing.

in reality, all new car dealers are like this- they get kickbacks from the manufacturer based on units moved, right? The problem is, they always will try to make something on the sale as well, not to mention the obvious add-ons, etc.
Can't blame them, but it makes for a hassle sometimes.
Some trade-ins re: honda's work out well. I traded an '04 Si w/ 70K in for 10.3 or 10.8, i can't recall, but i only owed a hair over 8K on it. It worked out well because it got the payment of the new car to be the same payment and term as the old car, but for a vastly improved vehicle with a fresh warranty!
I use a broker; he makes money from the bank w/ financing and gets the cars for bare bones from the dealer because he's helping them move units. He also gives great trade in values as he has a small lot he sells cars from. If any of you are in NJ/PA and need a vehicle, this guy is the man- Harry Klause in OC.

I went to MSN Autos and it sends it to the Internet sales for your local area, which is the Fleet sale guy too.
Or if you go to a Dealership, ask for the Fleet manager.

Ya, your right. But the Fleet guy is more likely to give you the best deal. When I used MSN Autos, it gives you the Invoice price so you know where you stand so you won't get ripped.
I don't have enough money to have a broker!! My last new purchase for me was 12 years ago....I still have it and this civic just replaced it as my daily driver.
