Default Wheel Hop

When I was stock I remember my Teg usually can peel in a high rpm launch (not that I would want to but I can) and chirp my first to second gear shift. Now after 2 years of adding on mild mods (I,H,E) the car has violent wheel hops. My dashboard and the whole car would shake so bad whenever I launch or shift at anything remotely high. What would be causing this? Bad bushing or shocks perhaps? Thanks

Some polyurethane bushings are supposed to help.

hmm.. are you sure that it's wheel hop and not clutch chatter? clutch chatter feels like violent wheel hop.

yeah its a common problem and it ruins your axles, urethane inserts are supposed to help and it also hase some to do with the type of tire your using, its pretty inevitable.

Eibach Pro-Kit/KYB AGX/ES Motor Mount Inserts = No wheel hop.

There was a little hop after the shock/spring install but that all when away as soon as I had my polyurathane motor mount inserts installed.

Ok cool thanks for all your input. Maybe I'll look into some urethane motor mount inserts.

I deffinately agree. Michelins + LSD = little bit of hop. S03s + LSD = massive hop. Wheel hop is my nemisis!

What do you guys think of Prothane kits? A supplier I get stuff from doesn't have the ES products, but he does have Prothane.

for me..it all depends on the tires and how theyre hook in up. I've had some dunlop sport w10's on some 16's i used to have..sticky *** tires would always give me wheel hop. I have all my suspension done from bushings, 5 way adj. shocks, to all sways, struts and tie bars. On 17's it rarely did that..but now i'm on stock 15's with shitty michelins..and they just squeel like a pig! If you got wheel hop..that means your usually hookin up pretty hard, just warm up your tires a little more and that'll prob solve your problem.
