OEM has worked for me, but ACL, King, Clevite, are all good bearings, it depends on proper clearances moreso than brand.

Just went back and read your post, what bearings are you using now and what makes you think thats what is holding you back? How loose or tight are you running your rod bearings?

All b-series crank come pretty well balanced from the factory. If you're worried about LS bearinngs have your rods retanged for gsr bearings.

If The bearings hold up under harsher condition, then I should be ok. I got everyhting I need to hopefully achieve 220 whp. If people have a Higher out put, and running stock Rod bearings..Then like I said, I should be ok.

do acl, clevite ect. use colour codes to match their bearings like honda??
because if not I would get the right colours from honda and fit them oem. with the right colour bearings in the right journals you should have perfect clearance and symetry threw the line bore

Is it a possibility, even 25% or even 10% possibility that the main bores and rod big end bores do not match the number and letter coding that is used to select the bearings?? At the factory when everything is new this is appropriate. Less appropriate when you got 80+k on the motor.
