Default My 2007 Honda Element SC

Just picked one of these up not too long ago and thought that some of you may like to see some pictures of it. Basically, the SC is a carpeted, lowered, bigger wheels, etc. version of the EX. The only downside is that it does not have AWD as an option.

The color is galaxy gray.

It is a little more stiff and bouncy than the other elements that we test drove. It actually handles quite competently, I am used to driving a GSR with aftermarket strut bars, shocks, springs, etc. and when I drive the element it feels like I can still take freeway on-ramps like a man.

it feels rougher because it has road only suspension unlike it's AWD brother.
So it handles much better on the roads

I am aware of this.

The AWD is not the SC's brother, it is its son.

will do later. I really like the interior of the rootbeer colored ones because the accents don't really stand out in the GG.

I know that is the only thing that I am not that excited about.

I like the EX-P. We were going to get a 2003 EX, but the only way we were going to get it was if it was black. Those unpainted pannels just look kinda cheap.

Agreed. I could never buy the black panel version, not after I saw the colormatched Elements come out.

It's only FWD.

I would have gone AWD, but there was only a few Elements for sale within a couple hours drive of here as it was.. and I got tired of looking.

thats weird. out here there was a ton of AWD's. I don't know if its because of the winter skiing, or being pretty close to the ocean, but I would say that the majority of them were AWD's.

it kinda bums me out that if we want to go skiing the SC is pretty much as worthless in the snow as my integra, well maybe not quite as worthless.

what would you guys say is your friends and co-workers reactions to your cars?

most of my friends and co-workers don't seem to have too much love for the element.

my favorite is when I tell them that it is a manual transmission.

no snow here so i dont have to worry about that.

most people given me a "wtf?!" look and attitude initially, but then after going for a ride or checking it out they're like "well, i guess its pretty cool." my girl wasn't too keen on it initially either, but after a couple days she said she really likes it. she's actually driving it today, we dropped her car off to be detailed.

mines automatic, thats one of the biggest reasons i got a new car. traffic absolutely sucks here and i'm tired of riding the clutch and shifting all the time. dont get me wrong, i love manual transmissions when theres an opportunity to take advantage of one. however, when i can't go over 40mph and most of my time is sitting in gridlock'd traffic, i'd rather have an automatic.

im going from an integra gsr to the element, which means cheaper insurance, cheaper gas, not getting targeted by every po-po that sees me, etc, etc. the list goes on and on. i can actually haul stuff now too!

i think the newer ones with painted body panels look good, but i'm more old school with the plastic panels. ha! just playing. the new SC looks NICE though! if i had the bank, i'd have gotten a new SC, but i'm very happy with my 03 ex. its green. it's too hot for a black car down here, and i wasn't crazy about the other colors. i actually dont like green anything, but i think it looks good on the element, particularly with the plastic panels. ok, im done babbling...

I hear you with that GSR ****, I still drive it sometimes. (It's been payed off for years now and I want to drive it into the ground!) I still get looks from the po and it pisses me off because I feel like an old man now.

I really do like the no-carpet in the EX. I have heard that there is this animal grooming company here in seattle and they have a fleet of non-carpeted elements, I am sure you see why?

I am a big fan of going to the ocean quite frequently, but I dont want to get sand all over the SC, so it leaves me driving the shitbox GSR.

Does that auto feel sluggish at all? I test drove a 5-speed auto SC and it felt a little more sluggish than the stick, but it is probably more mental on my part.
