Well, first you need a 3' fin, alteeza's and some curb feelers!!! hehehe...Wassup Biqter!

Hey guys, Biqter and I will most likely be working together on some of this stuff (scary huh?) so any input would be great! What are some of the basic bolt-on type modifications for the Civic??

Well I will ask the first basic question when moddifying a Honda. What do you want to do with it? Drag? Auto-x? Cruise around looking good?

Hmm good question. i just want a nice clean looking car that wont attract attention but has a little something in case i might want to take out a few cars. . basically something like a silent assasin. so i guess just a combination Drag/street cruiser/drive to work car.

Well you can never go wrong with a b series swap. If you're wanting more power first before a nice suspension or wheels or something. I would say do a swap or a nice suspension and wheels first. There is an excellent shop in Edmond called Trizone. Rubin(the owner) is a real cool guy and does lots of really good work. I would go there if I were you and talk to them and some customers. I know he gets the Japanese GSR motor swaps with everything and a LSD for 2900.

Personally, I usually start with suspension and brakes (at least a pad upgrade). A lot of fun can be had just by simply adding these components. The next big decision will be whether you decide to go FI or NA. The upgrades for each path will be different. So, which one will it be???

Do suspension first, then get a set of new wheels. Then start thinking of doing engine swap/turbo.

All bullshit asside, the best bang for the buck is a B series motor swap. Yes, its a lot of bucks but its also a lot of bang (too stretch a cliche)

if you're on a really limmited budget get a decent intake and maybe a header/exhaust and call it a day on the engine. you should spend most of your money initially on the suspension. Whatever you do, expensive or in-expensive, dont be cheap about it. You will only regret it and end up spending a lot more later to fix the things that cheap parts **** up. Welcome to the wild world of hondas

Sorry for not replying until now. had some internet trouble. the new engine would be really cool but i should have said money is tight . i think i will start with the suspension and brakes like most of you recommended. i cant wait to start this but i really do need to get the boring stuff first (new tires, insurance...oh and some body work)

no body kit or altezzas i got it.

nothings wrong with a bodykit as long as it doesn't come first

or second for that matter

Oh BTW FI stands for forced induction like Turbe or Super charging

NA is Naturally aspirated (is that how you spell it) which is the absence of forced induction

Forget about the body work for now. . .not unless it is severe. . .if they are just little nicks and tiny dents leave them until the very end. When I first purchased my 1993 CX. . .it had about 3 little dents. . .and the hood had little paint chips. . .I wanted to do body work, but then I realized that the money I was going to put into the body could be saved for other important things i.e suspension, wheels, ENGINE. Plus, you will notice new scratches every day. . .especially if you drive it around town and park in "high traffic" areas. IMO, save the money for more important things. . .your car is a work in progress. . .who cares what people think about it. . .as long as you are happy

Well, actually it is a little more than a few nicks and scratches. I got the car from a friend that was in an accident with it. It was hit from behind and pushed into another car in front of her. It is dented in under the trunk area so i had to remove the plastic bumper and the hood is dented in as well.
