Whats up guys i have a 96 accord with a h22a4 swap, i raced a 99 prelude the other night,it was cold out and a buddy of mine was wanting to sit in the car with the heat on, so i turned the car on an i heard this crapy *** noise, thought i had a rod knock, i turned off the car looked for anything going on, started it back up still making the noise so i thought i would check it out, so i drove it down the road the battery light comes on i was like thank god, but i make it like have way home an it dies on me, look under the hood an saw the power steering belt and the alternator belt just chillin on my valve cover, my crank pulley just about fell off, so i got the alternator checked out an it was fine thank god, i was wondering could the crank pulley coming off cause it to go out of time? an how in the hell do u get a alternator belt back on when its a little short?
same exact thing happened to me like a month ago. my timing wasnt effected. just take the vc off and check ur timing. put the bolt back in tighten everything down to proper tq settings. put belts back on and u should be good to go again. have ne other q's pm me
The crank pulley has nothing to do with the timing belt.
The alternator has a wide range of adjustment to install and tighten the belt....if it's completely too short then get another belt that's longer.

I had the same thing happen to me tonight. I was driving and all of a sudden my car started to feel off. Then I pressed a button and the car cut out. Got it home after waiting on AAA for 2 1/2 hours. I'm going to look at it more tomorrow when I have time. I just want to ask, but did the keyway get messed up any?
