I was quoted $1,697 for a timing belt and water pump change along with front main seal, balance shaft seals, cam seals and belts a valve adjustment, and a flush and refill of my brake and clutch systems.

This is from a well regarded local shop.

That is too high. Is it with parts or no parts?

You should go buy your own parts online, that way it's alot cheaper.

That price is close to what stealership charges.

Think about this one, go look and ask around to see if you can get a better price.

if the shop is well regarded, then I'd go to them. better then paying $800-$1000 for a place that doesn't know what they're doing and having to redo it for more money then paying a person a little bit more for reputable work.

and this is why I do all my own work, the most reputable.
