Differences in Crankshafts and Mains - D16A6 and D16Z6
I am currently in need of a crankshaft more my motor buildup as some of you have heard already, and I have the chance to pickup a D16A6 long block. The motor I have sleeved already is a D16Z6 block, literally the bare block. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the D16A6 crankshaft /mains and the D16Z6 Crank and mains. If there are any differences that you know of, can you go into them in detail?
Areas of concern -
Oiling
Oil Pump mounting
Main clearance for oil pan
Main construction and material used
Etc

Some information I've found

So you COULD use a A6 crank in a Y8, but you'll never be able to time it correctly Since you'd have to use a Z6 crank pulley.</TD></TR></TABLE>
This is telling me that the A6 crank and the Z6 crank have the same snout diameter.
AND FOR THE WIN on the Crank issue

talk to jim truett.
he has a build sohc stroker, and knows a lot about which crank/crank pulley to use on a lot of the sohc setups.
