Default searched but not my exact situation.

ok i kno the whole hood latch *** up is common, but mine was a bit diff. i wasnt able to close the hood it was like it was like something in the bay wasnt clearing. a friend suggested i pull the latch and he try to push it down. we did and it closed. but now when i pull the latch it doesnt pop up. what would be causing this and how do i fix it? TIA

does the latch feel tight when you pull it? does the hood pop, but not pop up? you may just need to move the hole the hood latch seats into to get it to pop up when you pull the hood release.

update: i took the bumper off and pulled the cable with pliers...still doesnt pop. i got the hood open by placing a screwdriver on the "part u can turn with a flathead". anyways i hit it with a hammer and she popped. but im still stuck at square one. hood doesnt close or open.

Pull up on the hood as someone pulls the release, you have to adjust the bracket and make sure the latch is straight. Mine got messed up after an accident, I went the cheap way out and got some hood pins.

cant u just pull out the pins? and someone can raise the hood? or is there some sort of lock and key?
