Default port and polish worth $960

hey so i was quoted $960 for a disassemble, port and polish and valv job and the reassemble for my h23. speed machine quoted me this so i know it would be good work but without the port and polish it will be $260. so is a port and polish worth $700 because i only wanna hit 11's and im still in high school so its not like im loaded. i just wanna get my h23 head built so i can put it on my f22b2. so it a port and polish worth it?

if you know how much work and experience is required, 700 is nothing.

a good p&p require years of experience and time, it's not like you can just grind down a ckunk here and there and make power. flowbench, testing, etc...(unless they are using CNC porting, but not much tuner will invest that much for such a low volume request)

to be honest, you need to know the tuner before spending the money, personal experience is everything in p&P.

not to break to you but 700 dollar is nothing in the world of tuning, hitting 11's in high school and you claim to be poor?

well its speed machine, there a reputable shop and team. they have a grip of 9 second cars. i didn't say im poor but like i only make 800 a month at my job. so a port and polish would set me back another month. its gunna take me a month and half to piece the parts together for the rebuild. so i dont think ill need a p&p to hit 11's. im planning on gettting to like 400 hp for the track but daily drive at like 300. if i wanted to go to like 500-600 then ya i could see a p&p being worth it. so i've decided to not do it, and just get them to do the valve job and assembly.

I think it is worth it, I had on done on my f22b2, and it made a hell of a dif, but yeah I am n/a still, back and forth on a rebuild, then boost, or f20b. if I do get a new block i know I will dget a p&p done thought.

What kind of buildup are you going to use to hit 11s in an accord that came stock without the vtec? I know you said you were doing the h23 head changeover, but I just don't see 11s unless you're running a ridiculous amount of boost or multiple 100 shots of nitrous. I'm not trying to hate on you, I'm just asking what you have in the works, and trying to be realistic.

ya im not going na.

h23 head-
kms dual valve springs
tit. retainers
valves
block guard
delta 272 camshafts
aem cam gears and pullies

f22b2 block-
eagle rods
forged pistons, don't know what brand yet
acl bearings

turbo setup-
garrett t3/t4 probably .63ar then bigger when i rebuild the block
custom manifold and dp by street machine
tial wg and bov
dont know what ic yet
hondata s300
dont kno wut size injectors yet
aem fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator
walbro 255
so that's the most of it, i wanna hit 300 with the stock block and then once i rebuild the block i wanna hit 400-450. so ya my goal is to hit 11's, but id b fine with 12's
