Bad PCV Valve ?
Still trying to identify what's causing some smoke, at first i thought it was my headgasket...but it smells like burned oil, can a bad PCV valve cause this? Can anyone explain me what is the function of this valve?
Thankx

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve controls air flow through the crankcase ventilation system. The PCV system draws engine blowby gases into the intake manifold to be reburned. There are a couple of ways to test if it's working that I know. Turn on the car. Squeeze the hose that runs from the PCV valve (it looks like it comes from the valve cover) to the intake. If you hear a clicking sound, it's working. Another way is to disconnect the end at the intake pipe and put a business card on the end. The vacuum should be strong enough to hold the business card there. I read a Goss's Garage article that said the PCV valve should be replaced every year, but if it's working fine, I don't see any reason to replace it.
