Type-R with Koni Yellow Folks
Be aware that Koni yellow shocks for the rear of ITR's are not externally adjustable. Just a heads up.
It's not true (anymore), I have a real ITR rear externally KONI shock. Mounted by the KONI factory in Holland!!
I'm not sure if it's this one: 8041-1164Sport

The front shocks for the car are perch height (25mm) adjustable and externally adjustable. The rear shocks are a compress to adjust for damping but do not have a groove to change the ride height. You can have additional grooves cut into the shock but this will void the warranty for the rear dampers. Also, you can switch out the rear lower control arm with that of a standard or GSR Integra and use their rear shock which does feature external damping adjustment and a lower perch height option. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks.

Strange. My rear shocks have two grooves for the height and the rebound is externally adjustable. Maybe you guys are talking about the GSR version.
Maybe it's a European application that is externally adjustable? In the states, when I got my Konis last fall, the rears are not externally adjustable. You have to compress the strut and then turn the rod to adjust - and then install the strut.
Perhaps since last Fall Koni has come out with an external adjustment?
In any event, Koni and a number of speed shops will revalve these struts to make them externally adjustable.

I don't know about the US market. But mine was installed in the first half of 1998. My ITR has the prototype ITR KONI shock, the previous owner said. KONI installed them for free in exchange for some testing on the car. The previous owner lived practically next to the main KONI factory!!!!

According to the Koni North America site, Type R's use 8040-1078Sport in the back.
The 8040-1078Sport is also for the '88 ED CRX, Civic.
Sorry guys, you're getting the cheap stuff or the rear suspension is different....

Technically they do not offer the rear externally adjustable right out of the box. But this is what you do...you call Lee Grimes at Koni and say I want a set of rear Koni Externally adjustable shocks for my ITR. He'll say OK, we'll use the type of Koni shock from the 88 CRX, modify it to get the same height as stock, then we'll convert it to externally adjustable. That simple, it's about $90 for the shock and about $125 for the conversion. Hell, you can have them converted to externally double adjustable individually (2 adjusting locations, one for rebound, one for compression), you have have them shortened, you can have them revalved for any spring rate you want. Have fun!
