Default EF hatch Problems

My GF's EF just got brand new distributor so thats not the problem. Anyways the car is a 91 Civic hatch DX. The car drives perfectly fine, then after a little while (10mins, it gets more frequent) the check engine light turns on, and it starts to lose power, not electrically, sorta like its only running off of 2 or 3 cylinders or something like that kinda feel. But if you pull off to the side of the road, turn off your car, and turn it back on, its ok again for a while.
any suggestions?

sounds like you got a bad one. the only sensors that throw those codes are in the distributor.

the other issue could be that your distributor is not getting power. with a manual, you can go through and test the circuitry to make sure everything is good, which will either implicate your distributor, or show that power may not be getting to it.

the other issue could be that the wires going into the ecu are having problems. either way, the wiring tests from a helms or honda manual will give you which circuit is the problem and what you should do about it.

the distributors in these cars are notoriously bad, because they packed too many sensors into too tight of a space. i would still bet it is your distributor, but you should do the wiring tests before you return that distributor, if you can.
