Default heater switch stuck

ive got a 89 crx si and the temperature control **** is stuck. I took the button off and tried turning it with a pliers and it turns like 1/4 way and then sticks. Any ideas on how to fix this without taking the dash apart?

make sure the cables conneting to the temp control is not sticking or binding....there is a cable that runs under the glove box, and another one that runs all the way to the engine bay. if the **** gets stuck....most likely the cables are stuck...thats what happen to mine

When you say the cables are stuck, do you mean the cable is stuck in the cable plastic sheath? Did you replace the cables or is there a way to unstick them? Thanks for the help!

yep that looks like it, I took the thing apart and the cables are binding. Do I have to use crx cables or do you use other types as well?

The other thing is i broke the tabs on my climate control box, it looks like **** now. are there any other honda temp control boxes that will fit the crx?
